Purchasing Beach Passes

  • Children 12 and under are free and do not need a beach pass, but must be supervised by an adult.
  • No refunds will be given for any reason. Season beach badges are not replaceable if lost or stolen.

Season Badges

  • Available online starting April 1 at apbeachpasses.com. Online purchases can be picked up at the Beach Office.
  • Available in-person starting May 1 at the Beach Office (Boardwalk at First Avenue) and starting Memorial Day Weekend at the 7th Avenue Beach Booth.
    • May 1–June 12: 10am–4pm daily
    • June 13–Labor Day: 9am–5pm daily
  • Credit card preferred. Cash accepted at the Beach Office and 7th Avenue Beach Booth.
  • Proof of age required for senior and teen discounts.

Daily Passes

  • Available starting Memorial Day Weekend online at apbeachpasses.com or in-person at ticket booths, the Beach Office, and credit card kiosks along the Boardwalk.
  • Must be used the same day purchased. Present at any beach entrance to receive your wristband.
  • Cash accepted at the Beach Office and 7th Avenue Beach Booth only.

Military & Veterans

  • Active Military Personnel and their dependents will be admitted free of charge. To receive free daily passes, present a Uniformed Services ID Card or an Award Letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs at the Beach Office (located at 1st Avenue and the Boardwalk) or the 7th Avenue Ticket Booth on the Boardwalk.
  • Retired, Disabled and Non-Active Veterans will be admitted free of charge. To receive free daily passes, Veterans must present a Uniformed Services ID Card or an Award Letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs at the Beach Office or the 7th Avenue Ticket Booth on the Boardwalk.
  • To receive a free military season badge, Veterans may visit the Beach Office at 1st Avenue and present a Uniformed Services ID Card or an Award Letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs. Military ID must be shown along with the military season badge to enter at any beach entrance. Military season badges are not replaceable if lost or stolen.

Beach Hours & Safety

During staffed hours there will be lifeguards on duty, and buoys and ropes marking off the areas for swimming. Keep an eye out for the safe conditions flag: if the water is rough, follow lifeguard instructions to leave the water. Please do not swim when lifeguards are not on duty.

  • Memorial Day Weekend through June 12:
    • Weekends and holidays only, 9am to 6pm
  • June 13 through Labor Day:
    • Weekdays: 9am to 5pm
    • Weekends and Holidays: 9am to 6pm

Beach Patrol & Junior Lifeguards

Amenities

Public Restrooms, Showers, Water Fountains & Water Bottle Filling Stations

  • Restroom locations: First Avenue, Fourth Avenue, Asbury Park Convention Hall, Seventh Avenue and Deal Lake Drive.
  • Restroom Hours:
    • Convention Hall: 6am to midnight, daily, year-round.
    • After Labor Day through mid-October (weekends and holidays only):
      • 1st Avenue and 7th Avenue: 8am to 9pm.
      • 4th Avenue and Deal Lake Drive: 8am to 8pm.
  • Beach showers are available at most beach entrances.
  • Water fountains are available at the restroom entrances at 7th Avenue and Deal Lake Drive.
  • Water bottle filling stations are available along the Boardwalk at 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue, 5th Avenue, 6th Avenue, and at the restroom entrances at 7th Avenue and Deal Lake Drive.

Beach Umbrella and Chair Rentals

  • Beach umbrellas and chairs are available to rent from third-party vendor Style Rocket at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th Avenue entrances on a first come/first served basis.

Handicap Beach Chairs, WaterWheels Adaptive Chairs & Accessibility

  • A limited number of handicap beach chairs are available. Request handicap beach chairs and assistance at any ticket booth.
  • A limited number of WaterWheels Adaptive Chairs are also available. For details, visit www.cityofasburypark.com/waterwheels.
  • Accessible parking and curb cuts are available at every block. The Boardwalk is fully accessible. Ramps to sand and mobile beach mats are available at every beach entrance.
  • Metered handicapped designated parking spaces are free. Parking in all other metered spaces is paid, even if a handicapped placard is displayed.
