Sandy Hook Beach
Sandy Hook is a stunning peninsula at the northern tip of the Jersey Shore, offering miles of ocean and bay beaches, sweeping coastal views, and some of the region’s richest history. As part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, it blends natural beauty with landmark sites like Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Lighthouse—the oldest operating lighthouse in the United States.
Just south of the park, visitors can explore the Twin Lights Historic Site in Highlands, featuring two climbable lighthouse towers and panoramic views of the coast.
